Anxiety and stress are common in high school. There are many things that can cause stress or anxiety in your life, such as trauma, bullying, work, or school. These are all major stressors that can cause a teen to struggle in their daily life. Though some stressors are unavoidable, there are ways to combat stress.

  • Breathing techniques/meditating will help bring you back and will calm you
  • Yoga/exercise are great stress relievers as they produce endorphins, or chemicals that make you feel good
  • Hobbies you love like drawing or playing guitar can help you deal with stress
  • Listening to calming music or your favorite playlist can put you in a better mood and help relieve some stress
  • Surrounding yourself with people that love and care about you can help. Often, they have important pieces of wisdom to share or nice things to say that help with anxiety and stress
  • Rethinking stress is beneficial. If you use it to motivate you and think of it as a more positive thing, it can help ease some of it. Make sure to build optimism so you are more positive and anxiety/stress affects you less
  • Relaxing or sleeping after a long, stressful day can be useful
