Introduction
Handwriting analysis is a subject that has many applications in crime solving. Being able to identify someone based on their handwriting is considered by some people a more exact science than others. There are numerous ways to single out particular writing styles of people and there are those who believe that you can actually single out character traits of individuals based on their writing samples.
Assignment One
Read Handwriting and The Use of Handwriting Analysis and answer the following questions:
Give three factors that affect our handwriting.
Give some examples of what types of documents can be analyzed and for what particular crimes.
What is the most common use of handwriting analysis?
What are the four areas in which experts look for personalized characteristics?
Assignment Two
Read the Techniques and Analyzing Print sections and answer the following:
Give three examples of what tools can be used to view handwriting samples.
What characteristics can change from one printer or fax machine to the next?
Assignment Three
Next lets look at someone's writing. Read the Analyzing a Sample information and find a writing example from another student that was written some time earlier. Read a sentence back to the student while they write the exact some thing ona clean piece of paper. Now create a table that compares the letters of the original document to the letters just written. Write a brief discription of what you find, are they quite similar or quite a bit different?
