Student Service Learning

Edge awarded Qwest/ AzTEA Foundation grant for Micro-Lending service learning project.
Thanks in part to a ten thousand dollar grant from Qwest Communications, Himmel Park student service learners will not only focus on completing volunteer hours in the community, but will also have the opportunity to participate in an international micro-lending project through Kiva.org.

Using laptops purchased with the Qwest grant money, students will research the profiles of individual loan applicants from all over the world, evaluate their needs, and make zero interest loans using seed money from student fundraising activities. Kiva.org loan applicants are low income, individual entrepreneurs who are applying for micro-loans to grow their small business'. We encourage you to learn more about micro-lending and welcome your donations to help grow this project into a legacy of economic empowerment and learning!

e-club elective
e-club at Edge combines a variety of experiential learning projects and individual research on topics including: the Sonora Desert, world geography, causes, mitigation, and politics of climate change.
